Crossword Puzzles as part of Social Studies

I came across a very interesting website this week that may be of interest to those of you using Ministry approved Social Studies Textbooks for Grades 7-9. A teacher has created crossword puzzle books that relate to the content of the textbooks. This may be an activity that your older student may really enjoy, and a great way to learn. Check out the website!

“Better Classroom Guidebooks publishes several collections of Canadian History crossword puzzles that can be very useful additions to your Social Studies classes. You will find that many of your students enjoy doing crossword puzzles and will complete the Canadian History crosswords for their own sakes; others will do them as an easy way to earn part of their course mark. Some will even do them because they find the Canadian historical events entertaining. No matter why your students use them, Better Classroom Guidebooks' crossword puzzles will help broaden their knowledge of Canadian history. “

Like all of Better Classroom Guidebooks' teaching resources, our Canadian history crossword puzzles are distributed on CD-Rom in .pdf format. They can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Check out the site for free samples.
